The 10-Minute Disciplines

One small daily practice for each of the 5 F's — because discipline equals freedom.
See the Five ListsSet Your Goals

You don’t need more time. You need ten minutes and a decision.

Nobody becomes the father figure their kids deserve in one heroic weekend. It happens in small, quiet, repeated choices — a prayer before the house wakes up, ten push-ups on the living room floor, ten dollars moved to savings before the day starts spending them.

That’s the whole idea behind the 10-Minute Disciplines: one short daily practice for each of the 5 F’s — Faith, Fatherhood, Fitness, Finances, and Freedom. Ten minutes each. Doable on your worst day. Powerful on your best one.

Goal setting works. Discipline works. This is both, boiled down to something you can actually keep.

F1 · Faith — 10-Minute Disciplines

Faith grows the way a muscle grows — a little work, every single day.

  1. Pray and give thanks every morning.
  2. Meditate on your day and clear your mind.
  3. Read or study the scriptures for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Do one thing today to give back and better the life of someone else.

F2 · Fatherhood — 10-Minute Disciplines

Fatherhood isn’t built in grand moments. It’s built in small ones you repeat.

  1. Tell your child one specific thing you’re proud of — say it out loud, not in a text.
  2. Ask your child one real question, then listen to the whole answer. No phone. No fixing. Just listen.
  3. Spend 10 undivided minutes in your child’s world — play what they want to play.
  4. Write down one goal for the kind of father figure you want to be this month. Read it every morning.
  5. Pray with your child — or for your child — before bed.

F3 · Fitness — 10-Minute Disciplines

Your kids will copy what you do with your body long after they stop listening to your words.

  1. Do 10 minutes of bodyweight work — push-ups, squats, and planks, right in your living room.
  2. Walk for 10 minutes after your biggest meal of the day.
  3. Stretch for 10 minutes before bed.
  4. Swap one sugary drink for water today — every day.

F4 · Finances — 10-Minute Disciplines

Winning with money isn’t about a bigger paycheck. It’s about a daily habit of telling your dollars where to go.

  1. Check your bank balance and write down what you spent yesterday. Takes 10 minutes.
  2. Move $10 — or any amount — into savings before you spend anything else today.
  3. Cancel or pause one subscription you don’t really use.
  4. Write down one money goal for this month and put it where you’ll see it every day.

F5 · Freedom — 10-Minute Disciplines

Freedom isn’t luck. It’s what you earn when discipline in the first four F’s stacks up, day after day.

  1. Write down what you want your life to look like in five years. Keep it where you see it daily.
  2. Spend 10 minutes learning one skill that moves you toward that picture — read, watch, or practice.
  3. Work for 10 minutes on the hard task you’ve been putting off. Just start.
  4. End the day by writing down one win from today and one target for tomorrow.

How It Works

Pick your pace.

New to this? Start with one F and do its list every day for a week. Ready for more? Run all five lists daily — 50 focused minutes that change everything.

Track your streak.

Print the lists, check off each day, and don’t break the chain. A missed day is just a day — start the streak again tomorrow. Discipline isn’t perfection. It’s returning.

Bring your kids in.

Do the tasks beside them. Let them see you pray, move, save, and plan. Discipline is caught, not taught — and a father figure who lives it raises kids who live it.

Set a real goal.

Each list is something you can measure. Write your goal down, give it a date, and check your progress every Sunday. Ten minutes a day turns into a different man in a year.

Goals + Discipline = Freedom
